Definitions
Worksite procedure refers to the documented
procedures for the machine and/or worksite.
Statutory requirements may include but is not limited to
the relevant sections of the New Zealand Building Code
and the relevant standards such as the New Zealand
Standard (NZS) 3000:1997, Electrical Installations Buildings, Structures and Premises, and NZS
4332:1997, Non-Domestic Passenger and Goods Lifts.

All work practices must meet recognised codes of
practice and documented worksite safety procedures
(where these exceed code) for personal, product and
worksite safety, and must meet the obligations required
under current legislation. Legislation includes but is not
limited to the Health and Safety in Employment Act
(1992), and its subsequent amendments.

A working knowledge of a variety of test instruments
will be required to gain credit in this unit standard, and
these may include but are not limited to - tachometer,
accelerometer, rope tensioner, door force meter, load
cell devices, multimeter, oscilloscope, megger,
frequency counter, signal generator.

1.1
An inspection of the worksite and the systems to be maintained is arranged with
other personnel according to worksite procedure.
1.2
Sequence of work is prioritised and coordination issues are resolved with others
involved or affected by the work according to worksite procedure.

1.3
Resources required for the job including equipment, materials, plans, drawings,
tools, and personnel are identified, prepared, and transported to the worksite
according to worksite procedure.

Check, test, and adjust variable performance parameters.

2.1
System parameters are identified from system documentation according to
worksite procedure.
2.2
Individual systems are checked, measured as required, and confirmed as either
being within or outside tolerances according to worksite procedure.
2.3
Parameters are adjusted by the replacement or reprogramming of components
according to worksite procedure.
2.4
Adjusted or redefined parameters are confirmed prior to work completion
according to worksite procedure.
