4332:1997, Non-Domestic Passenger and Goods Lifts.

2 All work practices must meet recognised codes of practice and documented worksite safety procedures

(where these exceed code) for personal, product and worksite safety, and must meet the obligations required under current legislation. Legislation includes but is not limited to the Health and Safety in Employment Act

(1992), and its subsequent amendments.

3 Prior to any work being undertaken with any lubricant, the substance must be identified from the

Manufacturers’ Material Safety Data Sheet and the specified precautions complied with.

Set up for lift cleaning and lubrication. performance criteria

1.1 Work requirements are identified from work orders, maintenance schedules or requests, and confirmed if necessary by site inspection, according to worksite procedure.

1.2 Resources required for the job, including equipment, materials, tools, and personnel are identified, prepared, and transported to the work site according to worksite procedure.

1.3 Co-ordination issues are resolved with others involved or affected by the work according to worksite procedure.

1.4 Preparatory cleaning of equipment is carried out to enterprise specifications using authorised cleaning agents and materials according to worksite procedure. element 2

2.1 Cleaning materials are selected in accordance with manufacturers’ documentation and worksite procedure.

2.2 Equipment is cleaned, using appropriate techniques and cleaning materials, without damage to equipment or the surrounding environment, according to worksite procedure.

2.3 Lubricant is selected according to manufacturers’ specifications and worksite procedure.

2.4 Equipment is lubricated to manufacturers’ requirements, schedules, and specifications according to worksite procedure.

Undertake completion procedures on lift equipment. performance criteria

3.1 Work is completed and relevant parties are notified in accordance with agreed plan and worksite procedure.

3.2 Worksite is cleared of excess and waste materials and equipment and tools returned according to worksite procedure.

3.3 Records are completed according to worksite procedure.
