People credited with this unit standard are able to demonstrate knowledge of: the requirements of finished leathers; quality control checks carried out on raw material and chemical supplies; quality control checks carried out on leather manufacturing processes; and tests carried out on finished leather. Evidence requirements 2.1 Checks carried out on hide and skin supplies into a tannery are identified and described. Credit Merit 2.2 Checks carried out on process chemicals received for tannery use are identified and described. Outcome 4 Demonstrate knowledge of tests carried out on finished leather. Evidence requirements 4.1 The physical and chemical tests carried out on finished leathers are identified and described in terms of meeting customer requirements.
