Range: floriculture, fruit growing, vegetable growing, nursery, amenity horticulture, landscaping. element 2 Assess health and condition of defined specimens and crops. performance criteria 2.1 Application of knowledge of general plant health and specific specimen and crop health to assessment of the specimen and crop determines the current health status of the specimen and crop. 2.2 Assessment of condition identifies physical characteristics of crop and specimen for comparison against established sector standards. 2.3 Documentation of health and condition findings provide basis for assessment of crop potential and specimen status. Range: colour, size, specialised maturity tests specific to the sector. 3.2 Assessment determines crop maturity against harvest requirements and enables establishment of unit value rates for the crop. 3.3 Application of standards established by the sector for assessment of development ensures common determination of development. Range: 3.4 age, size, resilience. Assessment of development enables establishment of current unit values for specimens. element 4 Determine social and commercial worth of the specimen and crop. performance criteria 4.1 Procedures adopted in the evaluation of social worth of specimens ensure factors which influence that worth are considered. Range: 4.2 appearance, location, replacement cost and time, rarity, effects on surrounding areas, effects on services, safety, legal protection requirements. Procedures adopted to commercially evaluate and value specimens considers factors which influence current value. Range: market requirements, market price, removal and processing costs, site restoration and replacement costs.
