Evidence requirements 1.1 Job documentation is checked to ensure that all specifications for the process being undertaken are complete and any discrepancies are reported in accordance with workplace practices. Outcome 2 Draw up lay sheets for portrait and landscape work up to sixteen pages. Evidence requirements 2.1 Lay sheets are described and their effect on portrait and landscape pages is explained. 2.2 Lay sheets are drawn to ensure that the job fits on the sheet size. Range work and turn, work and tumble, self backer and sheetwork up to sixteen pages. 2.3 Bleeds, trims, folds and laps are applied to lay sheets ensuring that the job requirements are met. 2.4 The importance of grain direction when drawing lay sheets is explained. Outcome 3 Machine fold, including roll folds and slitting, and use auxiliary equipment. Range leaflets, maps, multi panel work. Evidence requirements 3.1 Work is folded using a minimum of three plates in the first unit ensuring that safety requirements for the machine and workplace are followed. 3.2 2 up work is folded and slit using slitters ensuring that folds are sharp and free of creasing and marking. 3.3 Auxiliary equipment is set up and used to meet the requirements of the job specifications. Range 3.4 Sections are prepared for forwarding to the next production process. Range 3.5 any two of the following as available in the workplace – preloaders, gluers, stripping devices, presses, stackers, ink-jet numbering units, notchers, bursters. knocked up, stacked, labelled to identify. Jobs are packed to meet the requirements of the job specifications.
