Explanatory notes 1 Industry technical and safety criteria refer to the training manuals of the training agencies approved by the Dive Industry Training Organisation. 2 All workplace diving practice must comply with the requirements of the Health and Safety in Employment Act, 1992 (HSE) and subsequent regulations relating to Occupational Diving. All practice must also comply with Accident Rehabilitation and Compensation Insurance Act, 1992 (ACRI) and Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) guidelines. 3 All training providers assessing against any recreational diving unit standards must ensure that the training is conducted by a qualified instructor in current teaching status with one of the listed agencies: National Association of Underwater Instructors (NAUI), Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI), Scuba Schools International (SSI), Confederation Mondiale des Activities Subaquatique (CMAS) (or an equivalent determined by the ITO), and the instructor is providing training in accordance with the standards and procedures of the respective training agency. Outcome 2 Fill high pressure cylinder designed for use in self contained underwater breathing apparatus (scuba) with EANx. Range maximum 40% O2, filter materials, use of O2 analyser, purity standards, documentation, operator qualifications. Evidence requirements 2.1 Fill pressure is identified and control devices set accordingly. 2.2 The cylinder being filled is restrained to prevent toppling or spinning. 2.3 Valves are operated in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications. 2.4 Leak testing is performed to Dangerous Goods (Class 2 - gases) Regulations 1980 and its amendments. 2.5 EANx documentation complies with Dangerous Goods Regulations.
