Classification Retail, Distribution, and Sales > Stock Control Available grade Achieved Explanatory notes 1 The following unit standard may be considered relevant to and/or supportive of this unit standard, but is not a prerequisite unit standard: Unit 11958, Demonstrate knowledge of stock management procedures and systems in a retail or distribution environment. 2 Performance of the outcomes of this unit standard must comply with the requirements of the following: Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992; and Health and Safety Regulations 1995. 3 Definitions Organisational procedures refer to instructions to staff on policy and procedures which are formally documented, or generally accepted within the workplace. Retail or distribution environment refers to workplaces where the primary focus is on customers purchasing goods and/or services. This unit standard is Outcomes and evidence requirements expiring Outcome 1 Receive inwards goods in a retail or distribution environment. Evidence requirements 1.1 Documentation and labels received with goods are checked for accuracy. 1.2 Discrepancies between inwards goods and accompanying documentation are identified, and corrective action is taken in accordance with organisational procedures. Range 1.5 Storage requirements of inwards goods are met in accordance with organisational procedures. Range 1.6 corrective action may include but is not limited to – return goods, separate goods, store goods for return, notify supervisor, generate credit note. requirements may include but are not limited to – temperature, light, fragility, humidity, security, identification. Safe work practices are used to unload and move goods in accordance with organisational procedures. Outcome 2 Record receipt of inwards goods in a retail or distribution environment. Evidence requirements 2.1 Record of receipt of inwards goods is accurate, complete, and filed, in accordance with organisational procedures. 2.2 Record of discrepancies and returned goods is accurate, complete, and filed in accordance with organisational procedures.
