People credited with this unit standard are able to load
transport containers with glass and complete post-loading
procedures.

1
Definition
Worksite requirements- refer to instructions to staff on policy and procedures which
are documented in memo or manual format and are available in the workplace.
These requirements include but are not limited to - company specifications and
procedures, work instructions, manufacturer’s specifications, product quality
specifications, legislative requirements.

All work to be done in accordance with the requirements of the Health and Safety in
Employment Act 1992 and Resource Management Act 1991.

Outcomes and evidence requirements
Outcome 1
Load transport containers with glass.
Evidence requirements
1.1
Container is inspected before loading commences to determine loading
limitations and to identify and record any significant damage to the container.
1.2
Loading plan identifies the placement of glass to comply with loading limitations
and worksite requirements.
Range
includes but is not limited to- maximum weight allowable,
maximum height for over-height containers, load distribution,
bracing and prevention of movement, protection of glass.

1.3
Manual and/or mechanical loading of glass is completed to the requirements of
the loading plan and without damage to the materials or danger to those
completing the loading.
1.4
Container contents are secured in a manner which minimises the risk of
damage to the glass and danger to those handling or opening the container.
Range
may include but is not limited to-dunnage, protective packaging
and covers, separations, closure of the container.
Outcome 2
Complete post-loading procedures.
Evidence requirements
2.1
Container is closed and secured without damage to the glass in accordance
with worksite requirements.
2.2
Loading area is left clean and tidy in accordance with worksite requirements.
2.3
Documentation is completed in accordance with worksite requirements.

the last date for assessment set out below.
