Classification Retail, Distribution, and Sales > Distribution Available grade Achieved Explanatory notes 1 The following unit standards may be considered relevant to and/or supportive of this unit standard, but is not a prerequisite unit standard: Unit 11979, Package goods in a distribution facility; Unit 11975, Pick and assemble goods for dispatch in a retail or distribution environment; and Unit 11982, Pick and assemble goods using a computerised inventory management system. 2 Performance of the outcomes of this unit standard must comply with the requirements of the following: Dangerous Goods Act 1974, AS/NZS 3833:1998 The storage and handling of mixed classes of dangerous goods in packages and intermediate bulk containers, Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992, Health and Safety in Employment Regulations 1995, other published statutes, regulations, codes of practice, guidelines and standards relevant to the particular work site; and their subsequent amendments and replacements. 3 This unit standard is expiring Definitions Distribution facility refers to a workplace where the primary focus is on storage and distribution of stock. Agreed indicates a course of action that is agreed between two or more people (including the candidate) and which follows organisational procedures. Organisational procedures refer to instructions to staff on policy and procedures which are formally documented, or generally accepted within the workplace. 4 Evidence is required for wrapping of three different goods. Range 1.2 capabilities and limitations - product size, shape, weight, equipment speed, wrapping strength. Automated wrapping equipment is described in terms of maintenance requirements. Outcome 2 Outerwrap goods using automated wrapping equipment. Evidence requirements 2.1 Wrapping requirements of specific goods is described in terms of organisational procedures. Range wrapping requirements related to - product type, stacking method, destination of goods, mode of transportation. 2.2 Selected wrapping meets requirements for specific goods. 2.3 Goods are wrapped in accordance with organisational procedures and legislative requirements. 2.4 Goods are wrapped within agreed timeframes. 2.5 Wrapped goods are stable and secure in accordance with organisational procedures. 2.6 Wrapped goods are identified in accordance with organisational procedures. 2.7 This unit standard is Operation of automated wrapping equipment minimises waste of wrapping expiring material and complies with organisational procedures and manufacturer's specifications. Outcome 3 Maintain automated wrapping equipment. Evidence requirements 3.1 Automated wrapping equipment is maintained in accordance with organisational procedures and manufacturer's specifications. 3.2 Record of equipment maintenance is accurate, complete, and filed in accordance with organisational procedures.
