The nature of product safety hazards is explained in terms of type and potential
origin.
Range
types – biological, chemical, physical;
origin – intrinsic, extrinsic.

policies and procedures, heat treatment, temperature control,
product intrinsic factor control (eg pH, water activity),
environmental barrier and movement controls, pest control,
services control (eg water and air quality), preventative and
intrusive maintenance procedures, protective packaging, metal
detection, filtration, separation, segregation, control point
monitoring and recording, final product testing, product safety
