Outcomes and evidence requirements Outcome 1 Identify methods of measurement. Evidence requirements 1.1 Industry standard methods of measurement are identified in terms of trades. Range 1.2 trades - concreting, carpentry, excavation, painting, fixing metal windows and doors, roofing. Measurement methods are explained in terms of application. Evidence requirements 2.1 Measurement items are separated into pricing components. Range 2.2 components - labour, materials, plant, overheads, margins, equipment. Labour, material, and related items are selected and applied to these components to build up schedule rates. Outcome 3 Obtain and use quotations. Evidence requirements 3.1 Quotations are obtained from material or service suppliers. 3.2 Quotes are assessed against, and selected to meet, project requirements. Outcome 4 Apply overheads, profit, and on-cost items to built-up rates. Evidence requirements 4.1 The principles of overheads, profit requirements, and on-cost items are classified and explained in terms of application to schedule rates. 4.2 These principles are used in the formation of built-up schedule rates. Outcome 5 Collate all priced components into a submission. Evidence requirements 5.1 Priced items are collated to establish a submission that meets industry requirements. 5.2 The submission complies with contractual requirements. Evidence requirements 6.1 Market rates of materials and equipment are investigated in terms of cost, availability, and conditions of sale or hire.
