This unit standard involves both written and spoken Vagahau Niue; Speech is a prepared talk on a personal or general topic, such as family, interests, holidays, country, town, weather forecast; Predictable refers to topics and settings that are within the learner’s likely personal experience; Audience refers to three or more persons. 2 Evidence is required from one speech of a minimum length of one minute. 3 Notes and/or visual aids may be used to support the speech presentation. 4 Language used must be in Vagahau Niue and may be spoken with village-based dialectal differences and intonation. 5 Endorsement of village language variation may be conducted by pulotu, village or community appointed experts. 6 Achievement of the evidence requirements allows for hesitation, or minor errors in grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and intonation.
