This unit standard involves written Vagahau Niue; Wordlist refers to a provided limited vocabulary. Simple refers to simple sentences, simple compound sentences, limited use of dependent clauses, and common usage vocabulary; Familiar refers to topics and settings that are within the learner’s personal experience. 2 This unit standard requires two written passages in Vagahau Niue, of at least 150 words per passage. A wordlist and/or Vagahau Niue-English dictionary may be used. 3 Responses may be in written or spoken English. Achievement of the evidence requirements allows for minor errors in translation and English expression. 4 Endorsement of village language variation may be conducted by pulotu, village or community appointed experts.
