Definitions
Worksite procedure refers to the documented
procedures for the machine and/or worksite.
Statutory requirements may include but is not limited to
the relevant sections of the New Zealand Building Code
and the relevant standards such as the New Zealand
Standard (NZS) 3000:1997, Electrical Installations Buildings, Structures and Premises, and NZS
4332:1997, Non-Domestic Passenger and Goods Lifts.

Territorial Authority and inspecting authority refers to
the relevant Local Body Authority and the by-laws of
that authority for the particular local body area.

All work practices must meet recognised codes of
practice and documented worksite safety procedures
(where these exceed code) for personal, product and
worksite safety, and must meet the obligations required
under current legislation. Legislation includes but is not
limited to the Health and Safety in Employment Act
(1992), and its subsequent amendments.
Elements and Performance Criteria

Plan and prepare for inspection and testing by inspecting authority.
performance criteria
1.1
Inspection and testing requirements are determined and all relevant
information, including times and dates, confirmed according to worksite
procedure.
1.2
Resources required for inspection and testing including drawings, documents,
specifications, testing and other equipment, tools and personnel are identified
and transported to the worksite according to worksite procedure.

1.3
Sequence of work is prioritised and co-ordination issues resolved with others
involved or affected by the work according to worksite procedure.
1.4
Equipment and related building areas are inspected for compliance with
relevant statutory and territorial requirements.

Facilitate inspection and testing by inspecting authority.

2.1
Timetable is established and confirmed with representative of inspecting
authority for inspection of equipment, related building areas, and the conduct of
tests, as prescribed by the relevant New Zealand Standards and statutory
authority regulations.
2.2
Inspection, operational checks, and testing, in accordance with the prescribed
requirements of the relevant statutory and territorial requirements, are facilitated
with the representative of the inspecting authority.
2.3
Procedures and outcomes are recorded in accordance with territorial
requirements and worksite procedure.
2.4
Defects and/or faults are corrected in accordance with worksite procedure.

Complete remedial work on lift equipment.

3.1
Results of inspections and tests are recorded and reported according to
worksite procedure.
3.2
Items found to not conform are corrected or discussed with relevant parties to
initiate remedial action according to worksite procedure.
3.3
Re-inspection by representative of the inspecting authority is arranged
according to worksite procedure.
