Technical Assistance to the Civil Society Organisations 2 (TACSO 2) from the IPA Beneficiaries EuropeAid/133642/C/SER/Multi TERMS OF REFERENCE For an outsource Organisation/Company to assist the TACSO Regional Office in the preparation and delivery of workshops on social media Background of the Assignment The general objectives of TACSO are to strengthen the overall capacities and accountability of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) within the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA) beneficiaries and to guarantee the quality of services of CSOs and a sustainable role of the CSOs in the democratic process. The main purposes of the project are to: Increase and improve the capacity and actions of CSOs; Improve the democratic role of CSOs. An important activity under this heading is the capacity building of the CSOs in communication with the aim to increase the capacity of CSO representatives from the region in a number of key areas while offering them new knowledge on contemporary methodologies and techniques as well as the opportunity for practical application. Scope of the Assignment: The TACSO Regional Office is preparing a Regional Conference: CSOs and Good Practices in the Use of Communication Channels. During the conference, the focus will be on working to improve CSO communication and public relations capacities as well as the mutual literacy between the media and CSOs. A greater emphasis will be put on social media tools which are revealing to be major new tools for advocacy, campaigning and awareness raising at the national and regional level, which demonstrates the need to assist the CSOs in establishing their communication practices in using social media. Under the overall guidance of and coordination by the TACSO Communication Expert, the duties and responsibilities of the Short-Term Expert are the following: 1. Prepare and deliver interactive workshops on social media on the following topics: a) How to prepare material for social media b) How to choose the appropriate social media channel c) Social media etiquette d) Advertising, measurements and ROI (return of investment) e) How to use social media for fundraising 2. Prepare a report, describing the main highlights of the workshop. Location of the assignment The location of the event is Skopje, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. Duration and timing of the assignment The workshops are expected to be delivered on November 6, 2014 (the second day of the Regional Conference: CSOs and Good Practices in the Use of Communication Channels). Profile of the Organisation/Company: Outsource company has to be prominent, recognised, professional and very experienced in the provision of interactive workshops on social media Fluent in written and spoken English Excellent knowledge of social media At least three to five years of social media and communication trainings related work experience Prior experience in working with EU Projects Good understanding of the TACSO project as well as the CSO environment in the region Strong computer literacy Monitoring and evaluation of the Organisation/Company The activity will be monitored by the TACSO Communication Expert.
