Facilities Services Weekly Update Meeting 8/26/2015 9:30am Fred, Ray, Pat, Kevin K, Rick, Ron, Jessica, Kelli, Kevin T 1. Current Projects a. Vangstad i. Still need a construction schedule from Meinecke. ii. Painting in the basement. iii. Sub- contractor is putting up grid work for the false ceilings and the electrical contractor is finishing up what they can. iv. The elevator needed a heat detector and sprinkler line installed underneath it. v. Plaster and asbestos conversation happened this morning for work to be done in Vangstad Auditorium. We will be getting a price by the end of the week to decide what we can or can’t do. It would take a week for abatement and after that scaffolding will be set to work on the dome. b. Flood Wall i. Poured 40’ of wall yesterday and will finish another 40’ today. By the end of this week all of the wall that they have footings for will be poured. They are now in the process of digging another 187’ feet of footings which will bring them up to 40’ from Foss building. ii. The contractor figured there is still 3 weeks of work (including backfilling, reconstructing the road, and putting in curb and gutter) until we will then have the street and parking opened up to the science building. iii. After 9/30 they will be moving over to Viking Drive to continue work on that portion of the project. iv. Riverview Drive was being paved yesterday. c. Climate Control Upgrade i. Fred contacted CC so they can come out and troubleshoot the system (we are currently experiencing issues with temperature and fan control in different buildings). d. Back Alley i. On hold. e. Hill slide waterfall i. Wick cleaned up the mud and placed 2 tons of rock by the catch basin. This will hopefully prevent the basin from freezing up and causing the “waterfall” on the back hill. f. McFarland 1st Floor Water-proofing i. Wick is hauling in rock today to fill in the area of the wall that is ready. ii. They are working to get the area cleaned up and it should be close to completion by the end of this week. g. Field House Addition i. Request to the SBHE went in today from Rick Tonder. Will be on the agenda for 9/1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. h. Wellness Center i. Fiber lines are reconnected- will need to pull new fiber line. ii. Driveway is poured on both sides (needs to cure before use)- black dirt and gravel are in place on the North side of the shop. i. Heat Plant i. Ron will be talking to Dave (City building inspector) this afternoon to get the building specs for the proposed building footprint (east of the current heat plant location). j. Training Room Accreditation i. Field House 1. No updates- Ron will bring it up at Exec Team Meeting this week. k. Housing i. Working on water leak in Kolstoe and Snoey. ii. HA Thompson came back to fix water block issue at the President’s House. Future Projects a. Fine Arts Building i. On hold (will remain on agenda) b. Student Center Upper Lounge i. Will be scheduling an EMT meeting in the near future to discuss the emergency notification system and fall fire drills. b. Will be working on a State Fleet training for all employees (may need to have a separate training for new employees and provide just a refresher for current employees). c. Department Training – Professional Development i. On hold. d. One-time security funding i. On hold. ii. Card access in Rhoades 1. Ron and Jessica will meet with Joey to come up with a game plan to get this finished. FAMIS a. Nothing to report- all proposed SOWs are currently on hold. Building Services a. Had a discussion with housing people about bed bugs and keeping them out. Maintenance a. No updates 8. Power House a. With the new one way it could take longer to respond to alarms so be prepared and aware. b. Work orders- if people are assigned a work order that they don’t feel belongs to them, it needs to be communicated to the office so we can change our process if need be. 9. Other
