Monday I can analyze the economic changes caused by the market revolution had significant effects on migration patterns, gender and family relations and the distribution of political power. Activities: 1. Do Now- Define the Market Revolution. 2. Class Discussion: The Changing American Population- Students will discuss the changes in the American population in the first half of the 19th century. Materials: Powerpoint Follow Up/HW: COMPLETE PERIOD 3 AND 4 STUDY GUIDES. TEST TOMORROW Wed/Thur Tuesday Activities: 1. Do Now- Take out a pencil. 2. 2nd 6 Weeks Assessment: Periods 3 and 4- Students will complete a multiple choice assessment covering content from Cycle 2. Materials: Test Follow Up/HW: CHAPTER 10 QUIZ ON FRIDAY. 2nd 6 Weeks ends on FRIDAY Activities: 1. Do Now- Describe the significance of the Know-Nothing party. 2. Group Activity: The Lowell Mills- Groups will analyze the significance of the Lowell Mill system. 3. Writing Skills: Paragraph Chunking- Students will review the previous assessment and identify subpoints, topic sentences and chunks. Then, students will practice writing a thesis, topic sentence and one chunk. Materials: Notes, video, article Follow Up/HW: CHAPTER 10 QUIZ ON FRIDAY. 2nd 6 Weeks ends on FRIDAY Friday Activities: 1. Do Now- What was the experience of the Lowell girls? 2. APUSH MCQ Practice- Students will practice answering APUSH style multiple choice questions. 3. Chapter 10 Quiz- Students will complete a quiz over Chapter 10. Materials: Questions Follow Up/HW: 2nd 6 Weeks ends on TODAY. No more late work will be accepted.
