LAY PASTORAL VISITORS TRAINING Saturdays, February 5, 12, 19, 2011 9:30am to 3:00pm at St. John Fisher Parish, Brampton Office of Formation for Discipleship will be offering the Lay Pastoral Visitors Training in February, 2011. This training is designed to prepare lay persons to become Lay Pastoral Visitors in the ministry of spiritual and religious care of shut-ins and the sick of our parish communities. LIFE TEEN Attention High School Students: Come on out on Saturday evenings at 6 pm in the Stephenson room until 8 p.m. LIBRARY The Library will be open in the Stephenson room after the 10am and 12 noon Masses on Feb. 6th. CATHOLIC WOMEN’S LEAGUE (C.W.L.) Date The CWL will be holding their Women's Retreat here at St. Anne's on Saturday, January 29th. Registration begins at 8:15. Mass is at 9:15, followed by a light continental breakfast. Father Ron Mahon will facilitate the retreat with morning reflection followed by the Rosary. A light lunch will be provided. There will be further reflection in the afternoon, followed by Exposition. Closing prayer will be at 3 pm. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased after Mass this weekend. THE EDGE NEWS The EDGE is designed to meet the catechetical, educational, spiritual, emotional and social needs of young adolescents in grades 6, 7 and 8. In the Archdiocese of Toronto we are blessed to have living and serving among us more than 1,100 religious men and women of over 100 different religious congregations. This World Day of Prayer for Consecrated Life is a wonderful opportunity for us to thank God for the gifts of these religious sisters, brothers and priests and to pray for God’s blessing upon them in their efforts to faithfully live the evangelical counsels of poverty, chastity and obedience. All are welcome to come to a special Mass on Sunday, January 30 at 3:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Basilica to celebrate with and pray for these men and women religious who are such a vital and important part of the life and ministry of the Church in our Archdiocese. HOMELESS SHELTER MEETING On Tuesday, Jan. 25th at 7:30 pm, there will be a Homeless Shelter meeting for all the volunteers in this Ministry. It will take place in the Fraser room. MONTREAL AND QUEBEC PILGRIMAGE Fr. Damian is planning a Pilgrimage to Montreal and Quebec from July 3-8, 2011. If you are interested in going on this pilgrimage, please pick up a flyer from the church and come to a meeting on Sunday, February 6th at 7 p.m. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED DURING THE DAY The Rosary Apostolate in the schools is seeking volunteers (male or female) who have devotion to Mary, the Mother of God and who are willing to visit our elementary schools one morning a month to pray the rosary with the children.
