Mary Centre, a ShareLife agency, advocated for George to transition to a nearby nursing home. They were convinced George’s life would have been in great jeopardy if he had been evicted – he likely would have died anonymously in squalor. Today, he receives care and support, sharing the small joys of life with people around him on a daily basis. ShareLife funded agencies assisted over 20,000 people with special needs last year, affirming their value to our society. Smiley Bricks and In Memory of Bricks will be on sale in the lobby after all Masses. Next Sunday, April 3, 2011 is ShareLife Sunday. Please give generously. You can work WONDERS! Both a first and last name must be provided for inclusion in the Prayers of the Faithful. YOU TOOK MY PARKING SPACE AT CHURCH One day, a man went to visit a church. He got there early, parked his car and got out. Another car pulled up near the driver got out and said, “I always park there! You took my place!” The visitor went inside for Sunday School, found an empty seat and sat down. A young lady from the church approached him and stated, “That’s my seat! You took my place!” The visitor was somewhat distressed by this rude welcome, but said nothing. After Sunday School, the visitor went into the sanctuary and sat down. Another member walked up to him and said, “That’s where I always sit! You took my place!” The visitor was even more troubled by this treatment, but still He said nothing. Later as the congregation was praying for Christ to dwell among them, the visitor stood up, and his appearance began to change. Horrible scars became visible on his hands and on his sandaled feet. Someone from the congregation noticed him and called out, “What happened to you?” The visitor Sunday 108 replied, as his hat became a crown of thorns, and a tear fell from his eye, “I took your place.” ND A 2 FREE ESTATE PLANNING SEMINAR Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 9:00am Catholic Cemeteries and the Archdiocese estate planning team will share: - How to protect your loved ones with a proper Will - How to ensure your wishes are legally protected - About Powers of Attorney - The cost savings of making an estate plan - Finding lawyers and estate planning advisors - Our Catholic traditions around wills, burial and funerals An estate planning kit and DVD will be provided at no cost.
