POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: FLSA STATUS: Manager, Evaluations Exempt CATEGORY: GRADE: Professional C Job Summary: Manage and coordinate the District’s review, determination, and processing of student academic credits. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: YEARLY PERCENT OF TIME 1. Review, interpret, evaluate and determine collegiate application of traditional and non-traditional sources of academic credit and/or hours for income and out-going domestic and foreign students. Confer with and direct students as to the nature, level, and transfer of foreign education and non-traditional sources which is inclusive of assigning and reviewing TASP exemptions, identifying equivalent credit, and advising students on processes to obtain recommendations from credentials evaluation agencies. 25% 2. Assist in the planning, design, and implementation of office operations, policies, procedures and compliance activities. Provide leadership, consultation, and assistance to staff, students, and external agencies regarding issues related to college credit/accreditation issues. Maintain a resource library of a college publications and catalogs. 25% 3. Assist the department and students in the registration process. Review, research, and maintain student records (electronic, hard copy, and microfilm formats) to insure accurate documentation of student’s academic history. 25% 4. Provide direct supervision of staff to include coordinating and delegating work, personal/professional development, coaching, and performance management. 25% REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Director, Admissions SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Direct supervision of staff assigned to functional area. Skills/Abilities: • Knowledge of and ability to research complex federal and state regulatory guidance as well as college policies and procedures. • Knowledge of foreign education systems • Leadership and teambuilding skills • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills 2. Equipment Used: Personal computer and related peripherals as well as other equipment associated with a general office environment (e.g. typewriter, copier, fax, and multi-line telephone). 3. Software Used: TREQUIV, World Academic Database, integrated administrative software, e.g. Apache and Banner, and a variety of a word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Duties require little physical effort in working with light (up to 10lbs.) easy to handle materials. Duties performed causes light fatigue of eyes, fingers, and other faculties due to long periods of standing, sitting, and repetitive motion. INTERPERSONAL SKILLS Alternative or combined skills in understanding, negotiating, selecting, developing, and motivating people are important due to constant interaction with other people within the district and community, as well as the position’s accountability for the development, motivation, assessment, and reward of employees, and to deal with irrational situations where the outcome is unpredictable. WORKING CONDITIONS Job is performed in general office or comparable working area with occasional distractions such as noise, interruptions, or congested work areas with exposure to some disagreeable elements.
