Responsible for providing administrative support to Career Services Department which include Transfer Services, Job Placement Services, Cooperative Education Program and Career Planning/Exploration Services. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: YEARLY PERCENT OF TIME 35% 1. Responsible for supervising and monitoring the daily operations of a multicampus department. Create, schedule, assign and monitor Career Services quality of services. Verify work completion of assigned staff; provide staff training on new career services instruments. Provide personnel management direction and guidance to staff including orientations, performance appraisal, coaching, and professional development. Coordinate projects; provide support for career staff to meet department goals and objectives. Ability to provide administrative guidance within area of responsibility, direct training and supervision as needed. 2. Provide general information regarding Career Services and the College. Route and/or respond to questions, provide informational materials as needed and use current computer software and career-related software. Maintain records and statistics to comply with guidelines and institutional requirements. Retrieve and compile statistical data and prepare and submit reports and/or communications. Assist in the research of new instruments for appropriate use within the district. 25% 3. Perform liaison activities with other departments, higher education institutions and community members. Plan, organize and present at various group meetings, workshops, and presentations. Research, evaluate and develop means to effectively disseminate Career Services programs to students and faculty. Consult with discipline coordinators and other college staff on career-related issues. 20% 4. Develop, implement, revise and recommend new programs for department growth. Assist in the development of new projects; monitor and evaluate project compliance and performance requirements and activities. Plan, direct, and evaluate a complex operation, using manpower, time, funds, and other resources to accomplish long-term and short-term goals for the College. EXPERIENCE: Seven (7) years of supervisory experience to include a combination of successful administrative or supervisory experience in Career Services; supplemented with at least five (5) years of managerial experience. Comprehensive knowledge of Career Services resources, tools, information, and programs. Ability to organize work effectively, conceptualize and prioritize objectives and adapt to changing work priorities. Ability to exercise independent judgment based on an understanding of organizational policies and activities. Understanding of instructional and administrative procedures within a university, community college and high school setting. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the public. Ability to work in a diverse environment and be sensitive to issues of diversity. Ability and willingness to occasionally travel on behalf of EPCC and the Career Services Department. Ability to work with social media (Twitter, blogs, LinkedIn) and website maintenance. 2.
