JOB SUMMARY: Supervises the daily accounts receivable operations.

Supervise, train, schedule, assign, and review work of staff; prioritize departmental activities, workload and deadlines.
2.
Maintain accurate accounting records; federal reports on receivables; interface with external agencies; monitor database and provide guidance on reconciliation of accounts; pursue collection of receivables.
3.
Process majority of tasks/functions utilizing automated systems; conduct withdrawal and reinstatement assessment; schedule agency billings/invoices and generate student statements.
4.
Reconcile subsidiary ledger accounts against general ledger; process various journal entries; analyze transactions affecting student balances; interface with internal departments on handling transactions.
5.
Review and authorize check disbursements on various types of financial aid overpayments; verify student business holds; interface with counselors/coordinators on course registration; disseminate information to students and various agencies on departmental, college and receivable processes.
6.
Coordinate the assignment of aged receivables to collection agencies; process write-off and bad debt transactions; pursue library and citation collections; make recommendations on handling other student receivables; communicate verbally and in writing on general and specific cases to agencies and students.
7.
Communicate accounts receivable department policies and procedures with college staff, students, and external agencies concerning outstanding receivable resolution.
8.
Other related duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
EXPERIENCE: Four (4) years

Demonstrated experience with databases and automated accounting systems.
Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures with emphasis on accounts receivables and the Fair Debt Collection Act.
