POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: FLSA STATUS: Workforce Development Program Specialist Non-Exempt CATEGORY: GRADE: Classified E JOB SUMMARY: Coordinate the day-to-day operations and activities for the Workforce Development Programs and Truck Driving Program. YEARLY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: PERCENT OF TIME 1. Support and market Workforce Development Programs by establishing and 25% maintaining partnerships with community businesses, organizations, local Workforce Board, educational institutions, and other entities. Assist in explaining and/or recommending Workforce Development policies and procedures and regulations governing departmental functions. 2. Develop and/or conduct career related workshops and training. Conduct professional presentations at local seminars, conferences and meetings. Research and identify workforce development job placement leads within the community by contacting businesses and soliciting full and part-time jobs and document job specifications. 25% 3. Provide general information for Institute for Customer Service Excellence (ICSE) and other Workforce Development programs. Refer students to appropriate departments and /or agencies. 25% 4. Compose and prepare correspondence and statements of Workforce Development activity; compile data, prepare and submit reports. Provide work direction to assigned staff; prioritize and schedule work assignments. Assist Director in resolving and responding to customer satisfaction grievances. 20% 5.
