POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: EXTENDED TITLE: FLSA STATUS: Supervisor Faculty Credentialing Supervisor Non-Exempt CATEGORY: Classified GRADE: F JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Executive Director Human Resources, the Faculty Credentialing Supervisor is responsible for maintaining the District’s faculty and staff credentialing system ensuring compliance with the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) and The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) standards and guidelines. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: YEARLY PERCENT OF TIME 40% 1. Responsible for maintaining the institution’s faculty credentials system and staff credentials system by managing the data entry, imaging, auditing, and report generation of the credentialing system. 2. Research and verify accreditation of Universities, Colleges and Schools required by SACS. Facilitate evaluation and translation services of required credentialing documents. 20% 3. Review transcripts verifying the degree to ensure that faculty qualifications comply with SACS and THECB requirements. 15% 4. Respond to internal and external inquiries from Deans, faculty, staff and outside agencies. 10% 5. Provide supervision and direction of assigned personnel, including orientation, training, performance appraisal, coaching and professional development. 10% 6. Skills/Abilities: Familiarity with a variety of personnel functions/processes e.g. forms to be completed at the time of hire (I-9, W-4, etc.). Effective organizational skills and multi-task oriented. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written. Good interpersonal skills for dealing with general public and all levels of employees. Effective computer skills and ability to perform basic arithmetical calculations. Skill to effectively perform supervisory and managerial responsibilities. Knowledge of problem-solving techniques for identifying problems and determining the most appropriate course of action for their resolution. 2. Equipment Used: Experience with PC, scanner, printer, fax & telephone. 3. Software Used: A variety of word-processing, spreadsheet, database, e-mail, and presentation software.
