POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: EXTENDED TITLE: FLSA STATUS: GRANT: Director Director, Military Success Exempt Kresge Foundation CATEGORY: Administrative GRADE: C JOB SUMMARY: The director will plan, direct, develop, implement and oversee the aspects of the project initiative to work with and increase the degree completions by the military population and their dependents. YEARLY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: PERCENT OF TIME 1. Manage the ongoing planning, development, and implementation of student success 35% strategies district wide including the technology and software such as ERP systems of Banner CAPPS modules, and scheduling software of AdAstra and Student Scheduler into the EPCC Student System with the Leadership Team. Provide direction for the new software tools EPCC has purchased to support the entire student body in their planning and progress toward the completion of a certificate or degree. Communicate with university partners to ensure that automation of reverse transfer and graduation numbers are accurate and timely. Support the registrar’s office on student messages, logistics, and ensure that all EPCC students begin receiving academic progress updates every semester. Coordinate needs assessment plans for future funding, student support efforts, logistics, and communication between the office of Foundation and Development, Technology, Instruction, Student Services, and Workforce Development to support all students at EPCC. 2. Provide effective direction, leadership and strategic objectives for the Military Success Initiative. Create a plan to increase college degree completion by active military, reserve military, recent veterans and military and veteran dependents. Compile the educational needs of the military population and their dependents for reporting purposes, tracking and developing action plans to achieve project goals. Analyze and report findings; secure data to be used in assessing project goals. Ensure grant compliance and document all legal requirements. 15% 3. Support Foundation and Development with fundraising efforts, proposal writing, grant compliance, and support raising funds for college completion efforts at EPCC district wide. Raise support and financial resources to also support military student success initiative plans. Create data and information packets on student completion progress of all EPCC students, military information packets on project updates and other completion plans as needed. 15% 4. Direct, develop, recommend and implement short and long range strategic goals. Work on and develop related policies/procedures, ensure compliance with sponsoring agency and federal and state standards. 10% Effective: 08/23/13 Page 1 of 5 5. Serve as liaison to collaborate with UTEP and other military network institutions to establish data and articulation agreements and enhance communication plans. Serve as liaison for the AIMS network and communicate project plans, ideas, and tools shared by the network with the Student Success Core Team and report information to EPCC Leadership team. 10% 6. Develop and manage project budget. Prepare, develop and manage any related grant opportunities/awards associated. 5% 7. Provide personnel management, direction and guidance to staff, including performance appraisal, coaching, personal and professional development. 5% 8. Skill and ability to oversee all phases of grant development to include grant writing; Ability to conduct research methodology, evaluation and assessment; Web design experience. 2.
