Meeting Minutes

Yankee Candle Fundraiser
o Goal: $1500 to provide materials for EMU’s clinic, especially in the area of the
Proloquo2go app for the iPad!
o We get 40% back on all items purchased, so every sale counts!
o Helpful tips on two ways to sell:
 Shopping with Catalog/Mail in Orders
 Do not collect tax
 Orders need to be in to NSSLHA by November 13 and 14
o Board members will be available during normal meeting times
(in the usual room) for members to drop off order forms.
o If we are not available, there will be a large green box to submit
forms to
 All orders will be in by our December 11 & 12 meetings and can be
picked up then

 Orders can be placed until January
 Easier to have non-members order, just give them the link & ID number

This year, we will be adopting one family!
At the next meeting, we will have a sign-up sheet of what members will bring based on
the information we receive about the family

All donations will need to be brought in by December 11 & 12 (meeting times)

Upcoming Speaker

o If enough people are interested, we may have the opportunity to take a mini-field trip to
see the facilities in the future.

ASHA Conference
o NEXT WEEK!
o Shout out to all those attending! Please share your experiences and thoughts at the next
meetings.
o Lynn from ACFC will be presenting at ASHA, as well as someone from the ACC
o Keep in mind, MSHA will be in March in Kalamazoo. We will have more information on a
future date.

Mentorship Program
o Angela will be sending out an email to all mentors/mentees by this Friday. Check your
inboxes!
o Hopefully, during the off meeting week, mentors and mentees will get a chance to meet
up on November 13 & 14

An SLP office in Farmington Hills is still looking for volunteers

The National Stuttering Foundation has recently started an Ann Arbor Chapter
o If you would like to attend the meetings to find out what the group does, or if you have
any questions, contact Christine at cdits@emich.edu
o Meetings are held in one of the Medical Science Buildings at the University of Michigan
from 6:30-8pm; the next meeting is Tuesday, November 12
