Taking Tests in Blackboard Learn
1. Locate the link for the test. If you do not know where the link for the test is located, ask your
instructor.
2. Click on the name of the test.
3. Read through the instructions for the test. When you are ready, click the Begin button.

4. Your test has now begun. If it is a timed test, the timer will begin counting now. Time remaining
appears in the blue bar at the top of the test page.
5. Answer the first question. Answers will auto-save after a few moments, or you can manually save
your answer by clicking the Save Answer button to the right of the question text.
Important Note: If your answers stop auto-saving or the checkmark does not appear when you click
the Save Answer button, you may have been disconnected from the Blackboard server. If this happens,
stop answering questions immediately. Refresh the page or exit the test and re-enter (the timer will
continue to count down while you are out of the test). If you are unable to re-enter the test, contact your
instructor immediately and request an attempt reset. It is up to your instructor whether or not to honor
your request based on the situation, so provide as detailed an account of the issue as possible.

6. Once you have finished answering all the questions, click the Save and Submit button.
7. A dialog box will pop up. Click OK to confirm your test submission.
8. You will then see the confirmation that your test was submitted successfully. Click the OK button to
review the results of your test, if your instructor has made that information available.
