Bill Jonson, CAG Chair, called the meeting to order at 8:40 a.m. III. The minutes of the meeting of June 20, 2001 were reviewed. The spelling of Gena Torres name was corrected. The minutes were approved with the corrections. Additionally, the group updated the Participating Organizations list with an update to Ken Hess’s new title and correction to the spelling of Mr. Baier’s name. IV. Old Business – Corridor Impressions Survey a. Bill Jonson distributed copies of the Corridor Impressions Survey, which had been prepared by Katie Cole. Katie reported that these forms are now available in the Clearwater Visitors Center. b. The group suggested that the form be modified by adding to the “experience” section: “cleanup” and “other ______”. c. The group suggested that the Survey be distributed at the Cleanup Day on the Causeway at the boat ramp on September 15. Christina Cook of Keep Hillsborough Beautiful is organizing this effort. The Parrot Heads, organization – President Mike Olson - is also involved with the cleanup. d. Gena Torres will contact the Westshore Alliance to seek their involvement in having their members’ solicitant responses to the survey. Minutes 010720 Campbell CAG Meeting.doc 1 Printed 8/27 V. VI. VII. e. Tim Kurtz suggested that there are several City of Clearwater employees who travel on the causeway each day commuting to work. He suggested that the form be forwarded to them by email. f. Bill Jonson took the action to ask Katie Cole to distribute the form electronically. [The forms can be returned to kcole@clearwaterflorida.org.] g. The form should be distributed to the Tomorrow Matters Group distribution list. Ned Baier will ask Dena Leavengood to assist with this effort. h. We will seek to widely distribute the form and seek returns within the next few weeks. Additionally, the group decided to do a table and display at the September 15 clean up day seeking people to complete the survey at that time. i. BJ Bjers will obtain surveys from beach users. j. Gena Torres suggested that the Bay Area Commuters group could also assist with the distribution. New Business a. Schedule for completing the Eligibility Document: The group set the target of 11/1 for filing the application with FDOT. b. Background Assessment: Brian Smith reported that this document is almost done – just need to tie up some loose ends. They will target to have a draft done within two weeks. The final document should be ready for the next meeting in September. c. Bill Jonson reported that he had taken the Inventory and added it to the Intrinsic Resources draft done by Ed Royer. This was distributed to the attendees. He stated that some final editing needs to be done to combine these two documents. Ken Hess agreed to add intersections, and utility wires to the segment inventory. Tim Kurtz will assist. Other Business a. Joe Feaster distributed updated copies of the Florida Scenic Highway informational folder. b. He reported that other roadways are in the designation process state wide. Next Meeting a. Meet on September 14 at 8:30 a.m. in The Florida Department of Transportation’ s Clearwater Construction Office, at 3204 Gulf to Bay Boulevard Clearwater, Florida 33759. b.
