development of theatre performance? Focus on THREE examples of your own choice.
3. Bertolt Brecht wrote his plays ‘with every line composed with its delivery in mind’.
To what extent can we say that it is only in performance that the dramatic text becomes a
piece of theatre?
4. Discuss the uses of theatre space in TWO different historical contexts, emphasising the
way that the space was used to fulfil the different needs of the society that supported it.
