Hope to have it in place by January 2016 or fall 2016 at the latest. Student Senate office will move to the 900 building where HR used to be. Clubs will move to 913 in spring 2016 after BELA classes have relocated. The president and VPI will likely move out of SAC West. Status of positions: • Director of Financial Aid: Tootie Tzimbal has been hired. • Director of Admissions and Records: extended application date; interviews are scheduled July 22. • A&R Evaluators: two positions open; candidates for interview will be chosen next Monday. • System Support Coordinator: screening committee will meet in early August. • ASC Counselor: interviews on July 22. • SHS Medical Assistant: out for recruitment • Foster Youth Coordinator: out for recruitment BP/AP updates (CCLC) Dennis Program Updates All Assignments: BPs should be final by the end of fall semester AP 5015 (Residence Determination) – A&R (DBF) BP 5020, AP 5020 (Non Resident Tuition) -- A&R (DBF) BP 5030 (Fees) – BSO and A&R (DBF) AP 5040 (Student Records, Directory Information, and Privacy) -- A&R (DBF) BP 5050, AP 5050 (Student Success and Support Program) -- Margery AP 5130 (Financial Aid) – Financial Aid (DBF for Tootie) BP 5700, AP 5700 (Intercollegiate Athletics) – Dennis and Dale Murray Laura: • Student Retention being piloted; will go live in spring 2016. Marcus: • Student Senate retreat next month. • An extra day will be added to Welcome Week; Student Services will be tabling with the clubs. 1 Dejon: • EOPS/CARE accepting applications. • Summer Migrant Program is averaging 22 students a day – five seniors, the rest juniors and sophomores. • College & Career Night in planning stages; 4th Grade Experience is being planned by a committee and will take place on October 17 (a Saturday) as an open house style event. • ACE has an online application form on the Learning Communities website. Rachel: • New program in Watsonville is Digital Nest – a tech center for youth to help prepare for tech jobs. • CIS bringing back certification programs. • EMT moving to Watsonville, joining the CEM space in the Solari building. Margery: • Two new cohorts coming to Cabrillo – Ceiba School graduates and Oaxacan students from Pajaro Valley High School. Karen: • FTTW name change to SRSN (Student Resource and Support Network). • WIA name change to WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act); working with Goodwill of Central Coast (Santa Cruz, Monterey, and San Luis Obispo Counties). Jennifer: • Matt Weis of Internships and Work-based Learning is now sharing space in SAC West. • New payroll information: student assistants may receive up to three paid sick leave days per year which accrue from date of hire and start after 30 days (but is retroactive). • Online SaVE Act training required for student employees. • August 24 Flex Week training for student worker supervisors workshop. • Job Board update – showing open jobs only; archiving others. Sandi: • Joined the Mentor Committee; program gearing up to mentor students this fall; mandatory Flex Week workshop for those interested in mentoring. Dennis: • All final graduation tasks have been completed. • Colleague upgrade caused a glitch with applications and FAFSAs. • Work study award letters will be mailed next week.
