Subject: Task Order 1008-08, Seat belt use
The PNWCG Steering Committee tasks the SHWT to develop recommendations to help
PNWCG agencies improve the use of seat belts. The SHWT is encouraged to review the
Klamath IHC 2009 accident to help understand the seatbelt issue.
The SHWT should:


Contact MTDC to determine whether any work is being done on improving the
comfort of seatbelts.
Contact Forest Service Region 5 to determine whether they are doing a survey to
better understand why compliance with seat use may be lacking.
The steering committee encourages the SHWT to work with the OWT for operational
considerations for this task order.
