Crislyn Parker - notes
1. SLO Assessment Plan
 Utpal has devised a formula to set the default rotation. The spreadsheet will be open
viewing for a time and faculty will have an opportunity to change the default. Updates
will go to Deans then to the VPI who will update forms and lock and post to the
Assessment Tool site.
 Changing or adding courses: curriculum and mapping changes should be noted in
program review and the master list will be updated each fall. There was discussion to
change the coding for when the defaults. Utpal will look at this.
 Utpal has created a checklist process where faculty can put a checklist and/or comments
interdepartmentally to track and ensure completion of assessment. The tool will include
an auto sum function. Tracking can be done by AOAs, area coordinators or Deans.
2. SLO Mapping
 Utpal and a few faculty members worked together on mapping. It was easy to map SLOs
to PLOs for Certificates with very specific courses. For the rest, not every SLO will tie
into a PLO directly. It was suggested picking an SLO that directly leads to a PLO or
maybe from the last two classes. Faculty will need to learn to choose discriminately.
 Once the SLO mapping grid is completed, there will be separate documents for
assessment plans, and for mapping, to eliminate confusion.
 There was discussion about a color-coded process bar. This can be done.
3. Program Review Grouping
 A one-page document on the common areas of program review for all areas was created.
We should have a final template by convocation, and there will be time for training on
the new program review format. No needs addendum will be required in fall 2012.
Changing from a 15 month cycle to an annual cycle. Funding prioritization will be
completed he same year as program review is completed. Note: resource requests from
spring 2012 reviews will be included in program reviews due February 2013; all will be
prioritized in March 2013.
4. Convocation Planning for Friday morning, August 24
 The three above topics will dictate planning for Friday morning activities: Angelina and
data, the assessment plan and mapping, and Program Review
5. Other:
 Next dean’s meeting (August 8) will be planning for convocation. August 8. Roxanne
and Angelina will be invited. Anita will stay over from the Board meeting. Geisce will
be contacted to do the same.
