UNCW has continued to develop the partnership and relationship between the academic support staff in
Athletics and University College. The athletic academic support staff attends University College’s
weekly meetings and training sessions throughout the academic year. The Associate Athletics Director,
Director of University College and Associate Provost for Enrollment Management meet periodically to
review current practices and processes. Data is regularly reviewed and shared with the FAR to maintain
an awareness of academic progress and success. In essence, there is a well-supported culture at UNCW
that maintains a collaborative relationship based on open communication between the Department of
Athletics, University Learning Services and Enrollment Management.
