Savannah State University Position Description – Athletics Office Manager POSITION DESCRIPTION: Position Title: Athletics Office Manager FLSA Status: Exempt Reports To: Athletics Business Operations Coordinator Department: Athletics Date Prepared: June, 2012 BASIC FUNCTION This position provides efficient administrative assistance, clerical support, and secretarial services to the department of Athletics. NATURE & SCOPE Reporting to the Business Operations Coordinator, the Athletics Office Manager provides administrative support to the athletic office and ticket office. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Provide efficient administrative assistance, clerical support, and secretarial services to the Athletics department. Manage the department calendar to include the director of athletics’ schedule, master athletic department schedule, facilities rental, and weekly meetings. Assist the ticket manager with day-to-day office operations, sale and distribution of tickets for all home and select away athletic events. Manage internal communications and assist with team travel. Manage select databases and assist with special projects. Manage work study students. Perform additional related duties assigned by the director of athletics. SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED B.A. or B.S. degree required; Master’s degree preferred. Must possess good writing skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook) as well as strong leadership and interpersonal skills with a commitment to diversity.
