Summary Statement: State the major function(s) of the position and its role in the university. The Associate Athletics Director of Marketing oversees all areas of strategic planning for marketing, promotions and ticket sales for the Intercollegiate Athletics Department (ICA). The individual provides daily leadership for the Director of Marketing and Promotions, Assistant Director of Marketing and Promotions as well as the Ticket Sales team and serves as the department liaison with the multimedia rights holder, Wolf Pack Sports Properties (WPSP). The position provides daily direction to the ticket sales staff and has dotted line oversight of the Athletics Ticket Manager. This position works with the General Manager of WPSP to ensure that the multi-media rights holder is maximizing revenue opportunities through advertising, radio/television and corporate sponsors. The Director oversees the creation, coordination, and execution of game day promotions. This position reports to the Senior Associate Athletics Director for External Operations and is a member of the Department’s Senior Leadership Team. 2. Level of Freedom: The majority of the department’s funding is generated from external sources and success in the department is dependent upon ICA reaching its annual fund raising goals to meet budget requirements. The Associate AD for Marketing must be able to make most decisions independently and with only minor supervision from the Senior Associate Athletics Director. Impact: Decisions have a direct impact on revenue generation for the department and the fans’ game day experience. Therefore, thoughtful decisions are required to prevent loss of revenue. 4.
