University Studies Advisory Committee: Minutes

Attendance: Boomershine, Cilano, Cox, Fort, Gurganus, Moore, Orton, Sawrey, Siefert, Taylor
Issues:
• How does the committee know which courses are ready to be rescored?
o Kim: the committee leaders can let the committee know they are ready
o Danette could highlight the resubmissions that are ready to be scored
o Danette could sort the proposals by submission status

If a subcommittee wants a submission to be revised, do they send it directly or does it go to the
chair? Who then reviews the resubmission?
o Kim: the subcommittee leader can send back to department and notify Kim
o Kim: the entire committee will review resubmissions
o Mark: the entire committee should vote on all courses, with subcommittees doing the
initial review; if a course has all 3s or 4s, then the entire committee will pass it, if not,
the entire committee will review/vote on it
o resolution: subcommittees will review and score, entire committee will vote on all
submissions

Subcommittee status:
o Kim has divided us in subcommittees by alphabetical order – will email them out to us
o subcommittees won’t be meeting, just scoring ½ of the submissions to cut down on # of
proposals to score

Survey:
o Linda will add the submission number to the survey so she can sort by submission
number so they will be in the proper order for discussion

Are ‘common requirements’ courses allowed to be only for majors?
o Yes.
Course Submission Updates:

how to know which ones are ready)
