The SUNSHINES were creative and collaborated this
week to continue to build relationships and community.
They were respectful to their peers while launching reading workshop.

video. We will begin to use the laptops in our
classrooms for extra practice in literacy and
math activities.

*WHAT A WEEK IN WRITING! THE
SUNSHINES WERE INTRODUCED TO
WRITING WORKSHOP. DURING THIS
SPECIAL TIME OF THE DAY, THE
STUDENTS WILL BE IMMERSED IN
WRITING. THEY WILL HAVE PAPER
CHOICES AND STORY CHOICES
(NARRATIVE, INFORMATIONAL,
OPINION) THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.

ANCHOR CHARTS, CREATIVE SPACES
THROUGHOUT THE ROOM, AND
MENTOR TEXTS.
SUNSHINE WORDS OF THE WEEK: REVIEW OF THE
KINDERGARTEN HIGH FREQUENCY WORDS
The Arts
* After meeting with their Big Buddies (Mrs.
Fourman’s 5th graders), the SUNSHINES
collaborated to create a project based on their
similar interests.
* We continue to learn about each other
through featuring one SUNSHINE daily.

FOCUSED ON NUMBER SENSE
SKILLS THAT INCLUDED: ADDING,
IDENTIFYING AND COMPARING
NUMBERS, AND REPRESENTING
NUMBERS IN DIFFERENT WAYS.
