Minutes
Meeting of September 27, 2004
The second scheduled meeting of the Arts and Sciences Committee on Academic Programs
convened at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, September 27, 2004 in Holden Hall 129. Committee
members present were Corbett, Curzer, Geryk, Holaday, Troyansky, von Ende, Weinberg, and
Stewart (Chair). Proposal representatives attending were Dr. Jennifer Shelton (English), Drs.
Lanie Dornier and John Miller (HESS), and Drs. Paul Johnson and Tamra Walter (SASW).
ASCAP voted to recommend approval of the following proposals:
Change title
ENGL 3387 Literatures of Diverse Americans to Multicultural Literatures of
America. Committee recommends that the department consider making it “of
North America.”
Add courses
ESS 5329 Sport Event Management. Committee asks that the correct
designation of hours be made on the course approval form and that typos in the
syllabus be corrected for submission to the Graduate Council (return corrected
documents to this office).
ANTH 3342 Prehistory of the Southwest
ANTH 3344 South American Archaeology
ANTH 3349 Archaeology of the Northern Spanish Frontier. A revised
shortened title on the course approval form is strongly recommended.
The meeting adjourned at 4:05 p.m.
The above units are encouraged to submit requested revisions as soon as possible to augment
continued processing of their respective proposals.
The next scheduled meeting of ASCAP is October 11 for proposals reaching committee by
October 4.
