BLESSING OF EASTER FOODS
As in years past, we will celebrate the

(lower level). Many families of Eastern European origin begin their Easter celebration with this
custom. Perhaps you would like to start this tradition (or continue it) in your family
COME MAKE THE CHURCH BLOOM FOR EASTER!
Come help decorate the church for Easter on Saturday, April 19th , starting at 9:00 a.m. Come for a little
time or come for the whole time: all ages and experiences are welcome to come! For more information,
contact Catherine Downing at 617-782-5812 or at cfdesq@hotmail.com
For Easter, we would invite you to remember your loved ones by making a donation to
purchase a plant in their name. These plants will be used to make the Church bloom for the
season and an acknowledgement of gratitude will appear in the bulletin.
If you would like to donate, please out the form below and return to the Parish Office by
April 14th , together with your donation.

OUTREACH MINISTRIES
CRS RICE BOWL – WEEK 5: HAITI
CATHOLIC SOCIAL TEACHING FOCUS: CALL TO FAMILY, COMMUNITY
AND PARTICIPATION.
In Haiti’s rural areas, a shortage of health care centers and doctors are a fact of life.
CRS is working with a network of community volunteers to provide better health
services for women and young children. The healthcare program in Les Cayes is now run
almost entirely by Haitian resident volunteers. Volunteers have contributed more than
175,000 hours per year and have reached out to more than 29,000 children and 12,000
mothers. In target communities, the malnutrition rate has decreased from 14 percent
to 8 percent.
To learn more about Haiti, go to www.crsricebowl.org and click on Stories of Hope.
PINE STREET INN SHATTUCK SHELTER SPRINGTIME MEAL: THANK
YOU to everyone who was able to help us with this giant effort to serve over
200 Guests a fabulous Saturday night meal. Tammy Scott once again served as
our Coordinator and kept everything running smoothly, here and there. Our good
friends at Crescent Ridge Dairy in Sharon once again provided the ice cream.
MAY 4TH: PROJECT BREAD WALK FOR HUNGER
Online registration is open at www.projectbread.org. You can walk, volunteer or
sponsor a Walker or Volunteer, as a TEAM IGNATIUS member or as an individual.
Walker and Volunteer Guides are on the Outreach table and at church entrances, as
well.
HABITAT BUILD: On Saturday, April 12th, our young adults, SIYA,
will be building at a Habitat site. Your past generosity – through our
at-the-door collection last Fall - has made this Build possible.
Thanks, SIYA, for pitching in to enable us to continue our ministry to deserving families in
need of affordable housing.
“A COMMUNITY CONVERSATION”
We invite you to come to a Panel Discussion which is being offered to help the community gain better
understanding of housing options and community services for an aging population.
This timely
discussion will b held on Monday, April 28th at 7:30 pm at the German Center, 2222 Centre Street, West
Roxbury. A complimentary dinner will be provided. To register for this event or for more information,
please contact our parishioner, Maureen Eldredge at 617-469-0496.
