This Monday, March 14th, t h e celebration will include a Communal Reconciliation Service providing the opportunity for private Confession. Praying with Ignatius – An invitation to deepen your knowledge and experience of Ignatian prayer on Wednesday evenings, through March 16th. Participants are welcome to come from home or work for a simple Lenten supper following the 5:30 Liturgy. The Prayer Group is from 7 –8:30 pm, facilitated by Fr. Bob and other members of the Spiritual Development Commission. This can be a foundational experience for those interested in making the Spiritual Exercises in Everyday Life next fall. The Parish Retreat at Eastern Point – “Let Him Easter in us.” Using the Easter stories of encounter with the Risen One, you are invited into a time of silent reflection and inner joy and peace. With directors from the Spiritual Development Commission, you will have an opportunity for spiritual conversation, silent prayer and gatherings of prayer and worship with the parish community, as well as members of the Jesuit Urban Center. The retreat will be held Friday, April 8th to Sunday, April 10th. The cost for the weekend is $185 (all inclusive) with a deposit of $85 at registration. Lenten Program – Marsha Mirkin, Ph.D., returns on Saturday, March 19th, 9:30 am – 12:30 pm to present in the Friary Room from the Hebrew Testament “Jacob’s Nights: Desolation, Self Exploration and Change.” In this interactive study session, we will study Jacob’s spiritual and psychological path from an insecure youth to a mature man who enters the struggle for spiritual growth. Family Centered “Way of the Cross” – Good Friday, March 25th at Noon – Upper Church - With scripture, reflection, dance and song, our Carol Choir and Family Mass musicians and members of Fr. Bob’s Boston Liturgical Dance ensemble will lead us in following the journey of Jesus to Calvary. Easter Egg Hunt – Palm Sunday, March 20th, following the 10:00 am Combined Liturgy - Once again, our Grade 7th and 8th grade students will organize and host our Easter Egg Hunt for children in pre-school through Grade 5. So that we can plan, let us know that your child will be participating in the Hunt, by calling or emailing the RE office by March 13th (leaving your child’s name and grade) or sign up after the Family Liturgy on March 6th or 13th. Easter Outreach Opportunity – Julie’s Family Learning Center in South Boston has need of our help. Julie’s is a Catholic Social Service Agency that works with mothers in a variety of ways; they teach and support them while they work toward their GED, provide money management education and operate a Montessori school for the children of these women. Students in Grades 9 and 10 will be making Easter Baskets for 50 children at Julie’s on March 13th.
