MARK YOUR CALENDARS! - SPECIAL TAIZE PRAYER St. Ignatius with Boston College will host a very special TAIZE PRAYER on Monday April 13th at 7:15pm. Three brothers from the Taizé Community in France will be with us to celebrate and meet for an informal presentation afterward in the Friary Room. All are invited to join us for a unique opportunity to encounter members of the Taizé community. EVENING PRAYER FOR HOLY WEEK - MONDAY, MARCH 30 7:30, UPPER CHURCH TH All are invited to join us for an evening prayer of scripture, music and dance with members of the Boston Liturgical Dance Ensemble and the music ministry of St. Ignatius Parish under the direction of Michael Burgo. This is a unique experience of prayer that invites all to enter into the mystery of God’s presence with us in Jesus Christ through song, story, movement and dance. Through these different media, Father Bob has created a prayer and worship experience that promises to “move” you in many wonderful ways. THE IGNATIAN WAY: FROM GRATITUDE TO JOY - MAY 1ST -3RD Join us for the St. Ignatius Spring Retreat at the Connors Retreat Center in Dover. The retreat begins Friday, May 1st at 6:00pm and concludes Sunday at 11:00am. To register, please contact Katherine.Maher@bc.edu or call the Parish Office at 617-552-6102. Congratulations Congratulations to all of the young members of our community who received the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time throughout this month. We celebrate with them on their path to deepening their relationship with our Lord of mercy, forgiveness and healing. The smiles on their faces are beacons for our community of God’s love for us all. Please keep them, and their families, in your prayers as they continue their preparations for First Eucharist in May. 1. CRS RICE BOWL COUNTRY OF THE WEEK: UNITED STATES Catholic Social Teaching Focus: The Common Good Albany’s Story of Hope The community garden outside the Sister Maureen Joyce Center was once an abandoned lot in a low-income neighborhood in Albany, New York. Today, it provides fresh fruits and vegetables to the Center’s soup kitchen, where nearly 130 people gather three times a week for a lunch made from scratch. The garden brightens up a neighborhood of concrete, abandoned lots, addiction and unemployment. In addition to the soup kitchen and community garden, the Center houses a food pantry that supplies 300 households per month with nutritious food and cooking supplies and young families with children are able to obtain diapers, formula, clothing and strollers at the Center’s ministry for young families. The Center receives funding from CRS Rice Bowl donations—from the 25 percent designated for local use by the Diocese of Albany’s CRS Rice Bowl collection. THANKS… FOR YOUR CONTRIBUTION TO OUR SOCKS AND FLIPFLOPS DRIVE! ANOTHER THANKS… to our Habitat Builders, led by Anton Finelli, who spent last Saturday putting the finishing touches on a Roslindale duplex. JUST 34 DAYS UNTIL THE WALK FOR HUNGER – MAY 3RD!
