This position will be interviewing all children, parents and caretakers; conducting criminal and other data system checks; making home assessments; working closely with other professionals as necessary; documenting all case activity; preparing records for transfer to other child welfare providers when necessary. Also, a thorough knowledge of current law, policy and effective social work practice must be maintained by the employee. Also required will be preparing court reports; testifying in court; placement of children; making appropriate service referrals for the family; assisting other agencies when one member of a family resides in Wake County but is involved with child welfare services in another county or state. This position will complete CPS Investigative Assessments of reports of sexual abuse and serious injury. *NOTE - A criminal background check will be conducted. Skills, Abilities & Child Protective Services Assessment experience and forensic interviewing experience.
