We
Question, Think, Learn
Care and Act!
Lincoln is an International Baccalaureate (IB) school, which means every
student here is an IB student in the Middle Years Programme (MYP). The aim
of the MYP is to foster internationally minded, independent learners. Here is a
very brief introduction of what it means to be an IBMYP student:
 IBMYP Learner Profile: Inquirer, Knowledgeable, Thinker,
Communicator, Principled, Open-minded, Caring, Risk-taker, Balanced,
and Reflective. These qualities are taught and emphasized in every class
throughout the year, and they are taught directly in Culture Camp class
first quarter.
 Areas of Interaction: content is taught through one or more of these
lenses…
o Approaches to Learning – taking charge of your learning
o Community and Service – being a responsible citizen in the
world
o Health and Social Education – total development of the person
and of the society
o Environment – humans depend on nature; nature depends on
humans
o Human Ingenuity – humans as thinkers, inventors, and creators
Disciplinary Guidelines
Redirect System - The purpose of the redirect system is to promote positive
behavior and allow all students to be successful in the classroom. In the
classroom, the redirect system will look like this:
1st Redirect- Teacher will respectfully ask student about his/her behavior.
2nd Redirect- Teacher will make an observational statement about the behavior,
tell the student the desired behavior and ask for understanding.
3rd Redirect- Minor referral that results in a problem solving sheet.
Students unable to redirect their behavior after completing the problem solving
sheet will be sent to In School Suspension. Three Problem solving sheets in one
class will result in Step 1 in Formal Removal and parents will be called in for a
meeting. *Severe actions may result in skipping of steps as noted in the code of
conduct manual.
Tardy Policy
A tardy is when a student is not in the room (in their seat) ready to start class
when the final bell rings. Each tardy is considered a minor referral and will
result in a problem solving sheet.
1st Offense- Warning from Teacher
2nd Offense- Warning from Teacher (with an assigned helpful make-up task)
3rd Offense- Phone Call Home and Teacher Consequence (lose pass, lunch detention,
other)
4th + Offense- After School Detention
Class work and Homework Policy
All work is expected to be turned in on the assigned due date. If you turn in late work, the following
Late Work Policy will be enforced.
1. If late work is turned in during the same unit in which it was assigned it will be given one
letter grade lower than the earned score.
2. If late work is turned in during the next unit it will be given 50% credit.
3. Two units late it will be 0% credit.
*If you are absent you will have 2 class periods for each day missed to turn in your work for full
credit. If not turned in within 2 class periods, refer to the Late Work Policy.
