RECOGNIZING: That the Northern Iowa Student Government is committed to serving the
needs of the student body at the University of Northern Iowa; and
FURTHER RECOGNIZING: The Northern Iowa Student Government hires a Director of
Veteran/Non-Traditional Student Affairs to represent a community of students whom are
traditionally under-represented within the University; and
FURTHER RECOGNIZING: That Mr. Megivern is a student veteran with years of military
background and a nontraditional student returning a degree; and
FURTHER RECOGNIZING: That Mr. Megivern has an extensive background in representing
the needs of military, veteran, and non-traditional Students both professionally and voluntarily;
and
BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED: that Joseph Megivern is appointed to the position of
Director of Veteran/Non-Traditional Student Affairs under the Gartman-Andersen
Administration.
