6414.31 - Adds direction for use of AD-112: Report of Unserviceable, Lost, or Damaged
Property in the North Zone.
The direction included in this chapter has been developed through the coordinated effort of
Bighorn, Black Hills, Nebraska, and Shoshone National Forests, as the North Zone and applies to
all four forests. This coordination was initiated by the North Zone Acquisition Team under the
concept of shared services. All four forests must concur on future changes to this direction.

6414.3 - Sensitive Property. The following list of property will be considered to be "sensitive"
property on the Bighorn National Forest. The acquisition cost of "sensitive" items is from $100
to $1000. Items costing less than $100 will not be picked up in the PMIS system.

Chain Saws
Electronic Equipment
Firearms
Machines, Dictating and Transcribing
Pack Animals (Including Horses)
Projectors, Movie and Slide
Radios and Radio Equipment

In addition, the following items will need to be identified with Forest Service stamp or stencil
regardless of acquisition cost.

Form AD-112 Report of Unserviceable, Lost or Damaged Property.
Forward Form AD-112 with the North Zone supplemental form, NZ-6400-1, to the Forest Safety
Officer, when reporting accidents involving motor vehicles or heavy equipment, for
determination of employee negligence. The Property Management Officer should not complete
Section II - Property Management Officer's Review and Recommendation, in these instances.
