CHAPTER 6410 - PERSONAL PROPERTY MANAGEMENT
6414.33 - Accountability for Property Denoting Official Authority, Negotiable Property,
and Property of a Personal Character. This supplement provides instructions for safekeeping of property. The policy is to bring all accountable items under property
accountability, properly identify it, and provide safekeeping facilities for property
custodians. District Rangers will keep a record of expendable-accountable property on
Form 6500-96. In the Supervisor's Office the records will be on Form 6500-95a.
Expendable-accountable and non-expendable property will be charged out to
individuals on Form AD-107.
Each sub-unit manager is responsible to provide separate safekeeping facilities so
property custodians can keep expendable and non-expendable property under lock.
They are to provide for proper identification of items either by stamping, etching, or
decal.
The following expendable-accountable property will be put under property
accountability: Nomex clothing, vests, snowmobile suits, helmets, riding chaps, fire
packs, web gear and fire shelters.
Accountability for tools, inexpensive calculators and other items of this nature, is at the
discretion of the Ranger or Staff Officer. Items determined to be accountable should be
on inventory and signed out to users.
