Efficient emergency cover by on-site experts Service Solutions Instrumentation, Controls & Electrical Corrective Maintenance On-call Services Siemens' highly qualified corrective maintenance experts are on call to actively intervene in plant issues. Swift, reliable response – due also to active access to the Remote Expert Center (REC) and OEM spare parts. Your Benefits ■ Minimized outage costs due to rapid response and deployment times ■ Optimized maintenance costs through support for/augmentation of plantspecific maintenance strategy ■ Reduced cost-intensive and time-consuming training for own personnel The Task Many day-to-day maintenance tasks can be carried out by well trained operating personnel. If more complex problems arise, however, specialist know-how is required to prevent system inoperability or, in the worst case, a shutdown of the plant. If, in individual cases, system support cannot be provided with remote access, it is then necessary to get this expertise to the plant as quickly as possible. Our Solution As soon as the fault report is received, the global service network mobilizes one specialist who can get to the plant the soonest – around the clock, 365 days a year, in more than 190 countries. So as not to waste time in emergencies, the requisite formalities such as export provisions which could delay the deployment of support are clarified in advance with customers. This ensures the fastest possible response times and significantly speeds up fault recovery. The experts, who are specially trained to deal with emergencies, are familiar with the cus- tomer systems and, due to tried-and-tested crisis management processes, know precisely where to intervene. They help to minimize downtime and therefore reduce the cost of outages. If required, the locally based expert calls the central Remote Expert Center and the spare parts store directly and, in extreme cases, refers the incident back to the Development department. This swiftly available specialist knowledge enables the operating personnel on site to concentrate on their core tasks, thus reducing the number of costly, in-depth training sessions and the related operating costs. The trouble call standby service focuses on finding the fastest possible solution to the problem and combining this with the optimum efficiency and affordability of all resources. Siemens provides assistance with on-site experts: Specially trained and locally based maintenance experts, Developmentbacked know-how, the REC, and efficient spare parts logistics all assist in making an optimum emergency package for the affected power plant.
