Request for Variation of Indirect Cost (Overheads) Recovery
This form should be used when the project team and Research Partnerships Manager believe special circumstances
exist for a variation of the standard UQ indirect cost (overheads) recovery rates. In these cases, approval for any
variation must be granted by the Office of the DVC(R). NB: In cases where standard exceptions apply, a variation
request is not required. These are outlined on the UQ R&I website at: http://www.uq.edu.au/research/researchmanagement/overheads
INSTRUCTIONS FOR COMPLETING AND SUBMITTING THIS FORM
This form should be completed by the Lead CI and forwarded to the Research Partnerships Manager (RPMs). Your
RPM will review the request, seek e-mail approval from the Head of School/Centre, and submit the request to the
Office of the DVC(R) on your behalf.

If your request is approved, please ensure a copy of the approval correspondence is forwarded to UQ Research &
Innovation along with your project proposal documentation, prior to submission to the grantor or commencement of
contract negotiations with the project sponsor.
