Required Notebook
The notebook should contain an assignment sheet and numbered pages of all the
student’s work throughout the nine weeks.
A sample notebook is provided in the classroom.
A notebook test will be given each nine weeks.
It is the student’s responsibility to maintain the notebook.
It is recommended that all notes be kept in a safe place once the school year ends
to aid in future mathematics classes.
Practice Problems
Practice problems are assigned almost every night to practice what was taught
in class.
It is very important that the student completes assignments to the best of
his/her ability and asks questions during class.
Practice problems are graded for completion and occasionally for accuracy.
Since assignments are discussed the following day in class, an assignment cannot
be turned in late for credit.
If a student does not turn in three or more assignments during the nine weeks
grading period, a parent/guardian will be contacted. To receive partial credit on
a missing assignment, a student has to come before or after school to complete
an equivalent assignment.
Tests & Quizzes
Tests are announced in advance with a review given prior to prepare for the test.
Quizzes may or may not be announced and cover previous topics discussed.

Participating in class, reviewing notes daily, and completing homework to the
best of his/her ability will prepare the student for any test or quiz.
Tutoring
Students can schedule tutoring time with me before or after school on a
particular day that meets both of our schedules.
Tutoring is also available after school with other mathematics teachers.
Makeup Work
It is the student’s responsibility to makeup work from being absent.
The number of days absent equals the number of days to complete the
assignment.
Notes and assignments are located in the sample notebook and the Honors
Geometry folder provided in the classroom.
Tests or quizzes missed have to be made up before or after school.
Makeup work is given a zero until it is completed in the allotted time.

Calculators
TI-84 graphing calculators are available for classroom use, but students are
strongly encouraged to have his/her own graphing calculator or scientific
calculator to aide in completing assignments.
See Calculator Agreement Form for more details.

Progress Reports
Progress reports are sent home every three weeks.
Grades and attendance can also be accessed through PowerSchool.
