farming, is derived from the Latin word
“agricola.” This root meaning farmer, is one of
the few masculine nouns in the first declension.

• Walking to North Street- This year, our Latin IV/V class
worked with Mrs. Cunningham’s third graders and
helped teach them about Latin. Each of us had one or
two buddies whom we got to know throughout the year.
We taught them about beginning vocabulary words, Latin
derived words into English, characters of mythology,
Roman history and culture, the Olympics and many other
topics. It was a really great experience and every B-day
our class would walk over to North Street Elementary
School to teach a new lesson to the little kids.
